Description: This dataset consists of points for the location all child care centers in San Diego County geocoded from address information obtained from the Community Care Licensing Division of the California Department of Social Services (CCLD). Data is incomplete.A Child Care Center (or Day Care Center) is usually located in a commercial building. Non-medical care and supervision is provided for infant to school-age children in a group setting for periods of less than 24 hours. This includes: Child Care Centers, Infant Care Centers, Toddler Programs, School-age Centers, and Child Care Centers for Mildly Ill Children.The dataset was downloaded in csv format from the CCSS download facility (https://www.ccld.dss.ca.gov/carefacilitysearch/DownloadData). Records for San Diego County were extracted and geocoded using the SANDAG Composite Geolocator and projected to NAD83 State Plane. Records that could not be matched using this locator were manually placed. Records with invalid addresses were excluded. This dataset is geocoded annually for inclusion in the SanGIS Emergency DVD for JPA Members.
