Existing data was compiled from three sources, the County of San Diego Department of Planning and Land Use, the County of San Diego Department of Public Works and the USGS Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). All datasets were compared to each other as well as the 2006 ortho to determine the best possible location of each dam. The existing data, which was taken from the County of San Diego Department of Planning and Land Use, consisted of records that were obtained from HAZUS. HAZUS data was joined with the National Inventory of Dams (NID) data to produce the table. Information was obtained from State of California Department of Water Resources, Division of Safety of Dams. Data which was added via the County of San Diego, Department of Public Works, was derived from Aerial Photos, Lakes, and Dam Inundation layer to determine where dams would be. All records without a National ID have been marked with a QCISSUECODE of Location not Confimed by NID. The accuracy of these records is uncertain and have been added for public safety reasons. Additional records in the NID dataset were added to the dataset in May 2016. Where appropriate these points were relocated to the center of a dam structure. |
