MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) outfall drainage areas in the unincorporated areas of San Diego County. Mapped initially LUEG-GIS using ESRI Spatial Analyst Hydrology tools. These
areas were then edited by DPW Watershed Protection Program using in-the-field observations and knowledge. These catchments are labeled SOURCE = CUSTOM ANALYSIS. All other catchments were delineated using GIS methods only and are identified by SOURCE = DEM ANLAYSIS. DRAFT AREAS FOR REVIEW: Fields labeled WPP REVIEW are new delineations of outfall catchment areas using
the newest (2018) SD County DEM with a spatial resolution of 2.5ft. Fields labeled SOURCE = FIELD CHECK 2020 were checked and verified by consultants.
The countywide DEM was altered by burning in SD County Culverts and Channels, as well as Caltrans Culverts to model the movement of runoff through manmade conveyance not captured by the DEM. Burn depth was determined by attribute data where available. SD Culverts and Channels burn depth was based on the attribute INLET_BOX_DEPTH or OUTLET_BOX_DEPTH. If neither of these attributes were populated, the mean of the existing attributes (8 ft) was used as a burn depth. For the Caltrans culvert system depths of 10 ft were used culverts adjoining SRs and 20 ft for Interstates. Standard watershed processes were applied, basin
by basin through automated methods to delineate catchments based on point data provided by WPP. |
